Free public WiFi, mapped by people who actually connected
Every marker is a real hotspot someone used: fully open networks, cafés and hotels that hand out a WiFi password, and networks behind a captive portal with a web login. Where a password or login is known and freely given out by the venue, it is shown on the marker so you can connect without hunting down staff.
How the map stays fast
The dataset is published as a pyramid of standard map tiles: zoomed out you see pre-computed cluster counts, and street-level tiles carry the actual hotspots — the app only ever downloads the handful of tiles inside your current view, never the whole world, so it works the same with a hundred spots or forty million. Your own additions are saved to your browser's local storage first: you can use them without any account, export them as a JSON file, import files from friends, and email your export to hello@pwn-all.com to get it merged into the shared dataset after review.
Please only share networks that are meant to be public. Passwords printed on menus, receipts or signs are fair game; private home or office networks are not.
